A photo essay involves putting the photos in a certain order that would tell a certain story. They can express progression of the events, express emotions and show ideas. Your pictures or images are usually accompanied by some text for further explanation. Finding topics and ideas for your photo essay assignment is not easy.
A photo essay could be a great assignment in science to document a process or focus on nature. If you are just getting started, start out small: Have students create a short photo essay (two to five images) to present a topic, process or idea you have been focusing on in class.
